Fun with cars and books

Not quite how I thought he would use the English books I brought him, but they worked well with his cars :-)

Quality Family Time

My hero Makoto Nagano says he is retiring from Sasuke :-( and going to spend more time with his family.  Here are some photos of how he might be spending his time:

They are looking at the program for the theater performance we went to.

A yummy sandwich Asami made.  I love this picture of Kaiou hugging her.
Kaiou is watching himself on video.
This was when Kaiou cut his finger and had to have the bandaid trimmed because it was a shade too long - perfect boy :-)

Rocking the hat we bought for farming :-)

@ CRASH Japan in Sendai in July.  The staff told us we needed a hat for farming.  What do you think of my selection?  Who really rocks the hat?

Note: this was our room (Soh's room usually, but he gave it to us.  Note that there is no floor space if all of our futons are unrolled.  We had to roll up our beds every day so we could get around :-)

Yuuji Urushihara's 1st Kanzen Seiha

I snapped a couple of pictures from when this was last on TV.  Tournament #24.

Gotta love those All-stars!

Here are Takeda-san and Yamamoto-san applying bandaids before running a marathon.  Who else but these two would post this picture? :-)

Power Couple

Notice the Pringles can in the foreground.  I told them my story about buying a green can of potato chips and realizing too late that what I thought was sour cream and onion was actually wasabi.  They had a good laugh at that.

This was the towel I used while I was there.  Cool huh?

Sasuke training

After handling my suitcase, Makoto is ready for Sasuke!

At the train station shortly after I arrived.
Leaving.  He's holding Kaiou and dragging the suitcase.  Amazing!

Kaiou and cars

Kaiou liked the cars I brought him.  Hot Wheels are always a hit :-)

He also liked the English books I brought him.  Here he is either looking at the dictionary or the encyclopedia.

More Shopping

Shopping for the BBQ.  Kaiou looks ready for a nap :-)  Makoto was fussing with his murse.
 Yum!
 Packing the groceries.
That'll teach Kaiou to tease Makoto :-)

Cheering up a Rainy Day

When I arrived, the first place we went was to the store to get supplies for the BBQ they were hosting that night.  Here is Makoto packing up the groceries while Kaiou keeps an eye on me :-)
After you check out, there is a bakery with fresh bread.  Makoto picked up a tray to get some bread and of course his little shadow had to have a tray then.  You notice who ended up with both trays shortly thereafter :-)
Makoto's expression is priceless.  Caught him looking annoyed, even though he wasn't.  Notice the chocolate donut Kaiou picked out on the tray.  Can't remember what it was that Makoto picked out although maybe you can tell from the picture.

OK, now the rain isn't bothering me as much.  Don't know what I'll do when I run out of photos to post
 :-)

Lunch Today

Today I went to one of my favorite restaurants: Hibachi Japan.  It was a wonderful opportunity to use the chopsticks I was given in Japan.  They worked very well :-)

Cute Kids I Saw in Japan

It was great to see all of the cute kids in Japan.  These are just a few of them.
Kaiou and his English class friends at the BBQ the Naganos held my first night in Miyazaki.

This cutie was at the BBQ by the river when we jet skiied :-)
He sat in this chair for 30 minutes eating one kernel at a time super slowly.  He might still be there if we hadn't run out of popcorn :-)
Haruto - aged 2 - this is the first temporary housing we visited from the CRASH Sendai base.

In Kobe.  These two are cousins.
This is K.  The son of my friends Kihei and Amelia.
